HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING

 

 

 

 

Dear Friends of Hospice of Pamlico,

 

     Here's hoping your Thanksgiving, Christmas Holiday Season and New Year's celebrations were fulfilling and meaningful.  Now ... are you asking yourself an important question, "How can I make this new year different?"

 

     If you would like to make a difference in the lives of Hospice patients and their families we have an opportunity for you.  We have a Hospice Patient Volunteer training meetings planned throughout the year at the Hospice office at 602 Main Street in Bayboro NC. The training consists of two days with lunch provided and breaks mid morning and mid afternoon. There are 3 areas of help needed:  volunteers to sit with patients and provide respite for families to run errands, volunteers to help with bereavement, and volunteers to help provide administrative assistance in the office.

 

     When you have completed the Hospice Patient Volunteer training you will understand the role of the staff of each discipline, what is provided to our patients and their loved ones in that role and the importance of your role as a Hospice Patient Volunteer. You will learn all of these things and understand how your assistance as a volunteer will make a life changing contribution to someone who is in the end stages of life.
