GET INVOLVED

Community involvement is central to the mission, beliefs and goals of Hospice. There are many volunteer opportunities with a wide range of time commitments. Hospice of Pamlico County has a small staff with a huge mission. We rely on the generosity of many volunteers and invite you to join our team.

Patient Volunteer

Listening, talking, reading to, holding a hand, taking a short walk provides a great deal of support. You may offer respite care while a caregiver takes a short break. Checking to see that the patient and has needed supplies for the weekend is another possible duty. As a patient volunteer, your duties may vary depending on your strengths and training. You must be committed to a volunteer training session prior to beginning service.

Volunteer to walk a patient's pet.

Peace of mind for patients that have pets. Help keep hospice patients and their pets together during

their end-of-life journey.

Office Volunteer

A wide variety of office opportunities are available from writing personal thank you notes to donors, printing, filing, and data management, to cleaning and maintenance projects.

Thrift Store Volunteer

You may find your niche in the thrift store. Cleaners, organizers, decorators and cashiers are some of the available opportunities.

Hospice never charges for any services or public education events. We rely on the support and generosity of donors to carry out our mission. A gift of cash is always appreciated. All cash donations go directly to cover patient services not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. You may make donations in memory of someone, or simply to assist Hospice. Donations may be mailed, dropped by our office, or through the Pay Pal link below.
